It’s Dynamo Soccer Tournament weekend here in our house. Colin has 2 games today and could have more this weekend depending on how they do today. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer weekend for the tournament. It’s supposed to be sunny and in the low to mid 70’s.
Today I decided to be different and I used Jen’s sketch for a little Christmas notebook. I had 6 X 6 chipboard covers and some left over coil binding from the notebooks I made last week. I’ve had a lot of fun playing with the Cinch and I’m sure I’m going to be using it to make more projects to give away as Christmas presents. I got mine from Taylored Expressions. This one will probably go to one of the boys teachers this year.
Here is the sketch that Jen provided for us:
Along with the Cinch chipboard covers I used retired Merry Moments dsp from Stampin’ Up! The colors in the paper are Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green and Very Vanilla so I stuck to that for my project. I also used Nestabilities to cut out the largest oval. It’s embossed and sponged with Antique Linen distress ink from Tim Holtz. I then used Peaceful Wishes (retired), Delightful Decorations and All Holidays. The Alpine Originals Felt ribbon is some of my favorite. I created a bow and then sewed it together because it’s so thick. I then added a Stampin’ Up! Neutrals button with Pure Poppy Twine from Papertrey Ink. To make the ornaments appear to be hanging from the tree I used Silver cording and then poked 2 holes with the paper piercer and then tied it off in back of the oval. There are also half pearls and a rhinestone to pull it all together.
I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week. If you need more inspiration please check out the fabulous Sketch for You to Try Sisters:
