Peace Love Joy Notebook – SFYTT

It’s Dynamo Soccer Tournament weekend here in our house. Colin has 2 games today and could have more this weekend depending on how they do today.  We couldn’t have asked for a nicer weekend for the tournament.   It’s supposed to be sunny and in the low to mid 70’s.

Today I decided to be different and I used Jen’s sketch for a little Christmas notebook.  I had 6 X 6 chipboard covers and some left over coil binding from the notebooks I made last week.  I’ve had a lot of fun playing with the Cinch and I’m sure I’m going to be using it to make more projects to give away as Christmas presents.  I got mine from Taylored Expressions.  This one will probably go to one of the boys teachers this year.

Here is the sketch that Jen provided for us:
Along with the Cinch chipboard covers I used retired Merry Moments dsp from Stampin’ Up!  The colors in the paper are Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green and Very Vanilla so I stuck to that for my project.  I also used Nestabilities to cut out the largest oval.  It’s embossed and sponged with Antique Linen distress ink from Tim Holtz.  I then used Peaceful Wishes (retired), Delightful Decorations and All Holidays.  The Alpine Originals Felt ribbon is some of my favorite.  I created a bow and then sewed it together because it’s so thick.  I then added a Stampin’ Up! Neutrals button with Pure Poppy Twine from Papertrey Ink.  To make the ornaments appear to be hanging from the tree I used Silver cording and then poked 2 holes with the paper piercer and then tied it off in back of the oval.  There are also half pearls and a rhinestone to pull it all together.

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week.  If you need more inspiration please check out the fabulous Sketch for You to Try Sisters:

Just a Note Notebooks- Take 2

I mentioned that I made 2 more of the notebooks based off of Taylor’s kit that came with the Cinch.  These use My Minds Eye dsp that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  Colin picked out the papers for his friend and her Mom, our neighbors, who both celebrated their birthdays this weekend.  I used Autumn Abundance from Papertrey ink for the tags.  They were die cut with Nestabilities and sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink from Tim Holtz.  The flowers are from the Birds and Bloom die from Stampin’ Up! and were die cut with the Big Shot.

Just a Note Notebook

I promised you that I’d finish the project from Taylored Expressions that has been sitting on my desk.  A few weeks ago I ordered the Cinch.  With it I got an adorable Notebook project to use with it.  Today I made 3 of these!  Colin has a birthday party and I thought the girl who is celebrating would love a notebook of her own.  I have to say I LOVE the Cinch!  It was so easy to use to make this book.  I added a Spellbinders tag that was sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink and then stamped with the Papertrey Ink set Autumn Abundance.  I added some rhinestone swirls that I picked up at Hobby Lobby and flowers and leaves from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlet die.  The centers are Chocolate Chip epoxy brads.

I will show you the two other notebooks at the beginning of next week.  I want to give them away and not have the surprise spoiled.  I’ll be back tomorrow with a Sketch for You to Try.
