With all Your Heart

Posted on

I am so completely honored to have been chosen as one of the Top 30 over at 2 Sketches 4 You!  As soon as I saw the sketch I had to sit down and play along for this week’s Ultimate Card Showdown.  In order to celebrate I dug into some brand new goodies, so not only do you get to see my gorgeous card, you get to see some of the brand new InColors and Hostess stamp sets that will be released as of July 1st with the 2009 – 2010 Idea Book and Catalog.

To make this card I started with a Rich Razzleberry card stock base and layered that with Melon Mambo.  To make my scalloped layer I took a piece of extra scrap card stock and used my 1 3/4″ circle punch.  I layered the circles on the back and then completely covered that with a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper.  I used my paper snips to trim around the outside of the circles and there you have it, a scalloped piece of card stock.  I ran this layer through my sewing machine using a zig zag stitch.  Using my Circle Scissors I cut 2 circles, one from Whisper White and one from Crushed Curry.  I stamped my image from Kind and Caring Thoughts in Crushed Curry and adhered it to the larger circle.  Using the horizontal slot punch I made a slit for my ribbon, ran the Rich Razzleberry dotted ribbon through and then attached it to the designer series paper layer and then to the Melon Mambo mat with dimensionals.  I tied a bow and accented it with a Kraft corduroy button and natural hemp twine.  This layer is attached with dimensionals to the base.  The sentiment and flowers are from another Hostess set called Asian Artistry.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Basic Gray ink.  The flowers and leaves are cut out and attached with dimensionals and mini glue dots.  To finish the card I added 3 Very Vanilla half pearls from the Pretties kit.

I’m not going to say this card was quick or easy.  It took me over an hour to make, but I love how it turned out.  I certainly put all of my heart into this one.  Now I just need to cross my fingers and hope it’s enough to get me into the Top 20!

Have a fabulous Monday!

All supplies are Stampin’ Up! and will be available on my website as of July 1st.

  46. WOW! I was just feeling frustrated thinking I should have ordered a different hostess set and wanted to see what THIS set had to offer because it is the one I ordered . . . this card is FABULOUS. I love it! I really like what you did with the circles. I see you are using the Level 3 set also, which I so wish was available for purchase because I love it.
