Love Birds – Almost Artisan

Posted on

This is my 4th Almost Artisan post.  I decided to share one of my cards with you today.  I love the bright and cheerful colors in the Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper and pulled the colors right from it.  This card has little stamping, but it uses 3 different stamp sets – Baroque Motifs, All Holidays and Best Wishes & More.

To make this card I started with a Melon Mambo textured card stock base.  I then layered Rich Razzleberry with two patterns from the Razzleberry Lemonade dsp pack.  I used my sewing machine on these layers.  I then added the Whisper White layer and rounded the top two corners with the 3/16″ corner rounder punch.  This was stamped with the Baroque Motifs swirl in Old Olive ink.  I then added 2 birds from the XL Bird on a Branch punch and a small heart stamped with the All Holidays sentiment.  The Crushed Curry Eyelet border punch layer was added and then I used the reverse side of the Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon.  I added a Pretty in Pink Epoxy brad to the center of the ribbon and the sentiment is  stamped on a Kisses tag from the Occasions Mini catalog.

I can’t believe that today is the absolute last day of 1st grade for Colin.  We have a week or so before swim lessons begin for him, but Evan starts tonight.  He’s excited but he’s not sure about sticking his head in the water.  Our summer will be filled with more sports as Colin is taking his 1st set of Tennis lessons and Evan is starting a new T-ball league and then it’s onto soccer for Colin.  I don’t push them to do sports and let them sign up for what they’d like to do within reason.  I don’t allow tackle football or wrestling.  I think they are too young for such hands on sports even though they are available to them.  I figure I have to draw the line somewhere.

I hope those of you starting your summer vacations have fun activities planned.  I’m looking forward to lazy days without strict schedules.  I’m also hoping that Colin and Evan cooperate a little more with each other and stop the constant bickering.  A mom can wish right?

  1. Hi Jenn-

This is gorgeous! I love the color combo. I bet your boys are excited about summer vacation. My boys don’t get out until the 15th. This may sound horrible, but I’m so glad, because I was sick most of last week and got nothing done. I have a lot to do before leaving for my vacation on the 10th. I was so relieved when the teacher announced Kindergarten graduation would be on June 9th. I would have really been upset if I wasn’t here for it. I hope you have a great summer with the boys and I hear you about the bickering. I’m tired of being the referee! LOL! Must be a “boy” thing:)

  3. I love all your work – thanks for taking time to share with everyone. I agree on the bickering – as my girls have been at each other a lot lately. I told them it could be a long summer of hanging out in their rooms by themselves. 🙂
