It’s Saturday and I’m off to the 2nd day of the CHA Super Show. While I’m there I have a Sketch for You to Try from Jen. This week the sponsor is Totally Stampalicious. I chose to work with Cafe Scarlette. As soon as I saw the images and sentiments I loved it!
In working with Jen’s sketch I switched things up a bit. I went with an oval to fit my image instead of a circle and I added the sentiment tag to the upper right hand side. I decided to keep the outside crisp and clean.
When starting on the card I started with the main image panel. I cut an oval with my Nestabilities and then stamped the image from Cafe Scarlette in Basic Gray ink. I stamped it again on a piece of Taken with Teal Sweet Pea dsp and paper pieced her purse, dress and shoes. I then watercolored in the rest of the image with re-inkers and an AquaPainter. The drink is coated with Crystal Effects. I then sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and then doodled around it with a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker.
In keeping with the crisp and clean theme I simply lined the inside of the card and then added a strip of Sweet Pea dsp that was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch and then stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink.
Here is the sketch that Jen provided for us this week. I know it’s one that I will go back and use often. Please make sure to check out her blog for any special offers from Totally Stampalicious. Next week is a new month with a new Designer of the Month. The next designer is picked from participants so play along for a chance to be the next guest designer.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend! I’ll be sure to be coming home with tons of fabulous new ideas to share with you after a fabulous 2 days at CHA. I can’t believe that tomorrow is August. Only 19 more days until Colin starts 2nd grade! I’m ready for summer vacation to be over and Colin is excited to already know 3 other boys in his class. I’m not sure of Evan’s starting date, but his registration is this coming weekend so I’ll know that soon too.
