Boys and Their Toys – Almost Artisan

Posted on

Every Time I sit down to scrapbook I find it really relaxing and then I ask myself why I don’t do it more often.  It’s probably because my photos never make it from my computer to the store to be printed.  I’ve been looking at a few photo printers so that I can do it right at home.

This page is of Colin and Evan playing their new Nintendo DS games.  They both get money for Christmas and had been asking about getting a hand held game to play in the car.  It seems like all of their friends have one so Roger and I did our research and let them each pick one out.  The journaling reads: A few days after Christmas the two of you used your money to buy a DS.  The new games captivated you and kept you busy for hours.  Just look at your concentration.

I used a 12 X 12 Kraft card stock base.  I then used different patterns of the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper pad.  After my layers were in place I sewed them right onto the page using my sewing machine and a zig zag stitch.  The Taken with Teal layer is sponged with Taken with Teal ink.  I thought it complimented the colors in Colin’s Bakugan comforter perfectly.  I used the Circle Scissors and various punches to add the circles along with corduroy buttons, brads and a Latte button.  The So Saffron circle is stamped with the Delight in Life stamp set and I used the Delight Definition.  The title is the Just Perfect Alphabet.

Again I hope you have a chance to check out some of the other Demonstrators that are participating in the Almost Artisan Blog Tour.

I also wanted to thank you all for being so supportive of me as I’ve been blogging, especially as a Stampin’ Up! only blogger.  Over the next month you may see a few changes around here.  The biggest is that I am giving up my Demonstratorship as of June 30th.  I feel that it’s time to move on with my papercrafting.  I have e-mailed my customers personally so they were the first to know.  I will continue to blog and to stamp.  I will also continue to use Stampin’ Up! supplies as they are by far some of my favorite.  I hope that you continue to come back and be inspired.

  10. LOVE this page, Jenn!!! You have such an eye for detail, composition and balance. Your color combos are always great too! 🙂 I totally understand about moving on from SU! and have told my customers that I will only hang on so long as I don’t have to meet my own minimums. Lots of reasons on my end for wanting to drop. I won’t resign, but I will let it lapse if my minimums aren’t met. Anyway, take care, and even though I don’t have time to comment every day anymore, know that I get your updates every day!! 🙂 Hugs!!

  11. I love this scrapbook page – what a great boy page. I have three boys and it always seems harder to make boy stuff I don’t know why that is. I can’t believe you weren’t chosen as a winner.
    Thanks for sharing.
